Oke everbody , time for a contest

Ja ja ja mensen het wordt eens tijd dat wij een contest gaat houden. Want wij moeten scherp blijven, want huiswerk is leuk (voor sommige ) , maar wij moeten ook beter worden. Dus de spelregels zijn :

-Je gaat een avatar over jezelf maken
- Je mag de tekening met de hand of computer doen.
- Het moet origneel zijn en GEEN referentie van een videospel of film ( dus ga jezelf niet in halo armor zetten). Maar voor de rest mag je alles doen dat je uit je creatieve, zieke, gestoorde hersenen kan bedenken.
- Er moet een klok in je tekening komen te staan.
- De deadline is 21 november 2010.
- De tekeningen krijgen feedback van de kanidaten en ze moeten hun 3 drie favorieten characters kiezen. Van de top 3 wordt erover gestemd wie de winnaar wordt.
- De tekening van de winnaar wordt dan gedisplayed op de stekkereruit blog.

This is a pretty epic comic I found, which has now been posted to read online for free in this month of October. It follows the thief as he steals something, pays the price for it, and then goes on his journey of REVENGE!!!!

Huishoudelijke mededeling!

Goeie morgen lieve mensen.

Hier een klein huishoudelijke mededeling. Labels zijn labels die je aan meerdere posts kan plakken. Het is NIET de bedoeling 20 labels in sommige posts te zetten die allemaal nieuw zijn. Gebruik alsjeblieft de pregedefineerde labels en mocht het niet onder label passen probeer een zo breed mogelijk te verzinnen.  Anders hebben we een label lijst van 100+ dadelijk en dat "defeats the purpose" van labels.

Op een side note leuke projecten die net geposted zijn het lijkt mij een leuk idee om wat meer groepsgeorienteerde contest of challenges op te zetten. Nu heb ik zelf geen idee, maar waarom bijvoorbeeld niet iedereen die over je "project" leest uit te dagen om mee te doen.

En dan nog een P.S. Dinsdag Swooshy Dag in het lab van 10 tot 11:30 en 15 tot 18:00 spread the word!

Come on, who hasn't had a thing for pokémon at some point in time?

I once had this amazingly ambitious idea of drawing all of the first 150 pokémon (with a few exceptions, mainly plants) realistically, but I doubt I'll ever get around to it. Nonetheless, it's great fun giving it a try every now and then. Sure this is a gen 5 poké, but it's the idea that counts.

Still a work in progress (as is hopefully obvious).

If anyone needs help with a critter they're trying to design by the way, I'd be more than happy to help. My knowledge of human anatomy is lacking a lot still, but I know a fair bit of animal anatomy.

Oh also, I'm Ilse :). Just to clarify!

Swooshy Day!

As student initiative I am planning a swooshy day for coming tuesday. The entire day with exceptions of the lessons (11:30-15:00) I want to have groups in the LAB making swooshies for art class. This will probably be pretty big and many people seem to have problems with making those swoosh drawings.

So I am looking for more people who can help set this up and help fellow students within those hours to get better.

The idea is that everyone there poses for 1-2 minutes and people can drop in and drop out between 10.00 -11:30    15:00 - 18.00

Of course paper, drawing equipment and the mentallity to actually do stuff us up to the participants.  Any one up for this Idea?

AAAAaaaaggghhh!

So, I finished my essays pretty late last night. I followed the explanation for the Heroes Essay, however when looking through the "Thinking of Art" section on USAT1011 for info on the second essay I didn't find anything.

This morning I go looking for Dimme's email address and stumble upon the details for "Thinking of Art, Opdracht 2". I'm annoyed because the details are different from what he said in class, and secondly confused as to how I missed it the first time. (http://usat1011.hku.nl/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Opdracht-Thinking-of-Art-1.23.pdf)

I start looking into it further, and as it turns out, you can't see the info for it in the TOA section, the ART section, or the Lesmaterial Section. The only place it can be found is if you go to the homepage and then click for the next page. (http://usat1011.hku.nl/?paged=2)

Did anyone else not see this? Or am I the only one who got screwed over by it?

Guys (and girls)!

For some odd reason, there has been a change in our timetables. You should check the USAT1011 website, Wendy posted the revised timetables over there. Now, there are a couple of weird things in them. First and foremost, why are all our Art History lessons gone? Instead of putting the 'forgotten' one somewhere next week, they just erased all of them from the timetables. Second, why does G2 has two Tutor Hours in week 4, and why are they the only class to have them? It makes no sense whatsover. Apart from that, I'm not sure what has change.

Can anyone explain all these absurd changes? Can you? CAN YOU?

So, are you guys all done with your homework for this week? I have to say, I didn't really thought I was going to be able to finish all of it, but now that I'm done I guess it wasn't so much after all.

I am going to spend this day working on my website, I have a couple of pages done now, but I still have to make important and essential ones like 'Toelating' and 'HKU-werk'.

Has anyone received their login and password for both the ftp-server and webmail yet? I got it last Wednesday. The ftp-server works wonderfully, at least for now, but I'm not sure if anyone can actually see my website now. I'll just stand by and wait for some explanation about that, most likely in the upcoming Webscripting hour.

Portfolio 2 WIP

So, just trying to figure out how to adapt my website to fit all the stuff in that they want. I already had this design for a bottom tab bar that opens upward from portfolio 1, I'd like to carry it over. Also trying to make my homepage look designed even though there's nothing going on with the tab bar yet for the 'graphische ontwerp' class. Not really sure how my website reflects me yet; organised? Any comments would be helpful.

Technical Drawings?

Een makkelijke truc om mooie technische 3d tekeningen te maken is Isometrische Papier te gebruiken. Je volgt gewoon de lijnen en maak je heel snel 3d blokken, soms heb je een klein beetje verbeeldingskracht nodig, maar het luk je vast wel. Om de papier te printen of downloaden ga hier.

An easy trick to draw nice 3d technical drawings is to use Isometric Paper. You can just follow the lines and make 3d blocks pretty easily, it needs a little bit of imagination sometimes, but I'm sure you can figure it out.

Ik heb ook echt niks te doen in m'n vrije tijd. Nu wil ik die 3 uur liever terug. Het is een pakje pall mall kan er niet veel meer over zeggen denk ik. Heeft aardig wat fouten erin zitten. Kritiek graag!

Dit is een afbeelding die ik gemaakt heb voor mijn portfolio voor de selectie dag van onze opleiding. Het idee hierachter is dat het een reclame plaat voor in bijv. een tijdschrift is voor een eigen bedrijf. De gang+kamer+wc is gerendered in 3DS Max 2010 in 2 passes ( 1 keer gang + muren , 1 x kamer+wc ) en daarna in een photoshop project als 2 lagen geimporteerd om daarna bewerkt te worden tot het einde resultaat. De afbeelding op de monitor is gemaakt met een oud test project in Max die ik als desktop afbeelding gebruikte met daarover heen een laag met de tekst.

Geweldige "browser whiteboard" om met meerdere mensen te tekenen. Het is vrij simpel, maar daar hebben we een oplossing voor.

Deze "mod" maakt de website net wat fijner om mee te werken door betere tools en meer kleuren in het programma te zetten. Ik raad het aan voor die paar keer als je niks te doen hebt thuis (met de veronderstelling dat je wel meerdere mensen in een "room" krijgt).
